Lot 1586
+The following 15 lots of stained glass windows were discovered beneath leaves and tarpaulins during the clearance of a house and grounds in Cheltenham last year. They have probably lain there for the best part of 50 years. It is understood the windows were salvaged from churches in the South Wales district shortly after the end of WWII - many buildings in that area were damaged by enemy action. The collection is offered for sale without reserve. The glass has been cleaned and each panel secured within temporary timber frames, which allows handling and transportation.


Three 19th century or earlier lancet shaped stained glass windows, each panel 160 x 52cm approx, bearing royal ancorials of different periods, each supported by beasts with further quarries, monogrammed E and R set below crowns, a further such panels 58 x 52cm approx is included in this lot (4)
