The November sale at
the Wotton Auction Rooms saw the usual variety of lots, attracting
a wide range of buyers from many parts of the country as well as
Ireland and the continent.
£1,050 for a Turkish Kayseri silk carpet, £620 for a live steam 4”
gauge LNER Locomotive, £1,250 for a Meiji period Japanese bronze
figure of a Samuri, £900 for an Edwardian diamond set floral
brooch 3.5 cts approx, 80 oz of £800 grade silver flatware
realised £1,030. Amongst the furniture a Georgian mahogany chest
on chest sold for £820. A local longcase clock showing high water
at Arlingham passage £450, a Georgian mahogany linen press £600, a
pair of Holland & Sons mahogany tea tables £540, an early oak
Abbots chair £600, a Regency two seat sofa £520. The best of the
rocking horses made £510 and a pine triple wardrobe £500.
A Myford Mysto wood
turning lathe and associated pieces £570 and a pair of
reconstituted garden figures of cherub musicians £500.

Wotton-under-Edge will be held on December 11th & 12th
